Here we tell the story of how we became what we are today.

Jeune du Sacre Coeur was estabilished in November of 1992. It was founded by Marie Lucas, Michelle Daniel, and Sister Mary Gowen. These three women wanted to form a group of young adults in which they would teach them the way of Catholisism and more about the Haitian Culture.

The goal was acheived and JSC was born. This group of young adults became more than just a typical group. They became close friends and considered each other as family. Having this close relationship with each other is the biggest reason why JSC has always succeeded.

The youth group plays big part in the Sacred Heart parish. They hold fundraisers such as dinner dances, talent shows, fashion shows and raffles in order to raise money for the church. Some of the funds raised also goes towards paying for many of the activities the youth group partakes in. JSC also animates the 1:00pm mass every fist sunday of the month.

Sister Mary Gowen left the Sacred Heart Parish in 1997. On October of 2001 Michelle Daniel resigned as a leader because she moved to another state. Although the lost of Sister Mary and Michelle were great upsets to the youth group, their presence and memories will never be forgotten.

The youth group continued with  4 l
eaders: Marie Lucas,  Malida Theodore, John Poyau and Max Poyau. In August of 2005 John Poyau was unable to continue working with the group due to starting a new family with his new bride. The Youth Group meets every Saturdays nights from 6 pm to 8 pm for choir rehearsals and on Sundays immediately following mass until 5 pm. JSC accepts enrollment between September and December. Just come to the 1pm mass and speak with Marie, Malida or Max.
